We learned two very important things from UFC Fight Night 55 and UFC Fight Night 56, both this past Saturday: Michael Bisping, though popular, is well beyond his prime as a fighter and Ovince St. Preux’s stock is on the rise.
Michael Bisping tapped out to Luke Rockhold in the second round of the UFC Fight Night 55 main event for the first time in his career. This is a tough loss for Bisping and at the age of 35, it doesn’t look like he has many marquee fights left in him. While he’s known for his iconic mouth, his fists just can’t keep up anymore.
OSP showed us why he should be a feared opponent for anyone in the light heavyweight division. He knocked out a fading Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in 34 seconds of the UFC Fight Night 56 main event, showing incredible power against a former UFC legend. OSP is now #9 in the light heavyweight rankings. If he can string together a few wins, his last loss to Ryan Bader will disappear from our collective memories.
